Admired as much for his passion and spirit as his exploits on the field, Sheedy's new book "Icons Of Sport" celebrates 28 Australian sporting legends in a stunning new illustrated hardback.
Many of the Australian champions he honours in the book have impacted Australian life off the field in cultural and political terms.
Sheedy gives Byron his takes on everything from Australia's acknowledgement of the Black Lives Matter movement through to the outspoken views of controversial tennis champion Margaret Court, He also issues a firm demand for a Cathy Freeman statue outside of Sydney's Olympic Stadium.
